Fresh Folded Eggs for Easter

Hello world :) Today im introducing my fun Fresh Folded Eggs for easter. All These patterns are created by me. After making many iris folding patterns i felt they needed more depth and dimension rather than the boring same swirl of the regular Iris Folding, so i invented the corner folding technique.... hence my Blog name Fresh Folds . Once you give this a go you'll be hooked! Remembering these patterns are used with a basic knowledge of how to Iris fold. I'll be adding more sets as time goes by so check back often i have some nice designs up my sleve!
If you are interested in these patterns please email me.

I hope you find this new technique as fun and as fresh as i have. And Im here to give any help in making that happen for you....heres a pic my DH took when i was finishing these pattern sets.

Excuse the messy table some how i seem to work best when its like that!! heheh. And i finally got my new emboss folders that Dave odered for my birthday...ill have some fun now.... have a lovely Day..Valita

Make your own Prima flowers

Hello from my house to yours. Weve had so much rain here everthing feels damp but I'm not complaining weve been needing this rain so bad and its a real blessing and answer to many prayers.
How many of you have a zillion and one punches...um er me...well dig them out and I'lll show you how to make these Faux Prima flowers. Ive never bought any Prima flowers the reason manly being that i have so many punches that i couldnt see any good excuse to buy more punched flowers. So i got to thinking and realised that i had a heap of handmade type cardstock which worked perfect. One thing i discovered was some punch shapes got that nice Prima look and others mmm were ok. Here the 10 petaled flowers worked best from L-Em.com (for the Aussie girls) but you may already have something much the same. Its also important you use a nice handmade cardstock for this project to get the look were after as it bends and moulds to shape very nicely. I found mine in one of the cheap shops... it always pays to get things when you see them cause you never know when you need it...this is the hauder comming out in me...heheh. So here are some pics of ones i quickly made... you experiment and and see what you can come up with.

Ok so heres how i made mine..........Punch out your flowers and make small cuts in between each second petal
next with a fine embossing tool score lines down the center of each double petal section and fold up to give it a good crease.

Lay your flower on a an embossing pad using the larger ball end of the embossing tool start making circle motions at the ends of each petal pressing the paper in. small tip I used a small pad saved from a packet of brads and its just the perfect size to take to card classes and not bulk up my bag.

Now when your happy with the indents youve made flip the flower over and give it a good firm press in the center of the flower which will make the flower pop up.

And your done ....how easy was that! so next time you need all those primas flowers but have all the punches save some money and give it a go...Valita

Special Moments

Another card i made for the same baby shower. This one was inspired from Brenda a very talented lady from the COC forum. I started to IF(iris fold) the pattern but got so side tracked with the cut out.
I used my emboss folder to give her dress more dimension giving the illusion of the shape of the baby inside and it just happened that the pattern also matched the cuff of her sleve and neckline. One advantage with the cuttlebug emboss folders is you can see through the folders and place your paper where you want. I also inked around the edges etc.
The flowers and leaves are a cuttlebug die. The word verse took on a different twist ive not tried before. As always you dont have just the right verse or wording for your card so i hunted around my stamps and found one from Hero Arts that almost fit. then just inked up the top and bottom words leaving out the word Bouquet and stamped this first. Then using the word experience from See-D's stamp set (my set is called A Word or Two) i simply stamped this into the space that i'd left and I have a whole new verse stamp cool hey! i think it looked great in a different font also it puts more meaning into that word.

Sorry i cant share the the pattern for copyright but thanks Brenda im really pleased with how this card turned out and it was very well recived at the baby shower.

This is the verse i wrote in the card and
a last thought for you today

Gods ways are as mysterious as the pathwayof the wind,
The manner in which a human spirit is infused
into the little body of a baby while it is still
in its mothers womb.

Baby Shower Card

Hello, its cooled off alot here today my toes are cold as i sit here .....nice to have a change though. Well I was asked to Make a baby shower card for a lady so everyone who was comming could sign it and this is what i came up with. I'm so loving using my cuttlebug machine and the dies. The baby here is a cuttlebug die and the circles are the nestibility dies. The stamps are the so very set from Stampin' up. I made this card as a gate fold but only attached the scalloped circle to half the top flap which opens a little different and gives plenty of room inside for people to write there well wishes. To close the card just tie the bow. Well i hope this can inspire you and ill add some more pics here of the same card....Valita

Some simple Heart Decorations

Hello ,Sorry i havent posted for a while....ive been cleaning my craft space which was well over due and you'd all understand how that can become a real mess.... Its been raining here for a while now but cant complain we need the rain so bad. Anyway ive made some quick little decorations for Valentines Day and thought id share them with you. Ive used a christmas tree hanger here to display them on but they look cute just hanging around the house. All very simple to make using cutting dies, embossing folders. The heart with the wings was made buy cutting a heart in half with scalloped scissors and using those for the each wing then adding some gliter. The 3D heart was made with 4 seperate hearts folded in half but adding the ribbon to the middle before gluing it all together. These were fun to make and would make a nice little gift to show someone you care.

I aslo found this cute heart on the net. Here are the original
instruction
. But i found if you glued it different it worked
better so ill show you what i did.

You'll Need:
6 stips of card
2, 27cm
2, 18cm
2, 13cm
40cm of some pretty ribbon
and strong crat glue

Cut these and emboss, ink the edges etc before you put
it together. Remember the ribbon gose up the center of the strips. Now start buy gluing the smallest strips together at one end with the ribbon in the center leaving a ribbon
tail at one end and a longer ribbon end for a bow.
Next add the middle size strip to either side then the longest. Once the glue has dired arch down the smallest strips and glue and do the same to the other strips gluing as
you go and keeping the ribbon going up the center. See easy

Tie a bow at the top and add an embossed heart to the bottom and your finished.
